The Department of History is as old the PRR & VS College itself. It originated in 1965 along with the
college as a constituent part of it. It offered students social science with a combinations of EHP Group
(Economic-History–Political Science) in the Arts Faculty. The members of the Department have
voluminous experience to their credit imparting quality education to students. They kept themselves
updated about the changing aspects of History at regional. National and international levels. Viewing
the needs of the changing society, the DOH has envisaged a plan of future action to introduce job
oriented courses.
The department is providing all necessary facilities. The department library has 250 Titles, and
the college library has adequate number of books. We maintaining relevant paper clipping records.
The department has regular connection with V.S.University of SPSR Nellore District. Students
participated in NCC, NSS, Games Sports, Library, Cultural programmes, Clean and Green,
Blood Donations and social Service Camps. Free coaching for PG Entrance in being given every
summer and as many as 07 Students were selected in different Universities in the last five years.
